It is their durability, cost-effectiveness, safety-enhancing qualities, and easy-application properties that make safety markings made with DEGAROUTE^® cold-plastic compounds such a compelling proposition. Applied using a draw box or template, cold-plastic compounds are the preferred solution for urban applications (including for stop-line markings, pedestrian-crossings, symbols or hachures). 
Cold plastics made from PMMA are 2-component systems comprising the primary material and the hardener. Each component is supplied separately, and both are then continually mixed before they are applied to the road top. 
The mixed components remain in a fluid state prior to application and then rapidly harden through chemical reaction. Cold plastics are applied in layers 1.5 to 3-milimeters thick.

Cold plastics are

• long-lasting under high levels of stress caused by drive-over traffic
• easy to apply using a template or draw box
• adhere exceptionally well to concrete or asphalt surfaces
• highly weather-resistant
